About Me

I'm Angbeen Abbas, and I'm currently pursuing a Sociology degree at the London School of Economics. Originally from Pakistan, I split my time between London and Lahore.

Whilst at university, I've been contributing articles and podcasts for The Beaver, LSE's student newspaper, and am its Executive Editor for 2021-22. In my first year at The Beaver, I launched Guftagu', a podcast centred around South Asian identity, culture, and politics. As Podcast Editor for the 2020-21 school year, I've worked on creating and producing content for Beaver Sound, the recently created podcast arm. In 2020, I was also shortlisted for the Zeenat Haroon Writing Prize, a writing prize for Pakistani women's writing, for my creative non fiction.

As a writer, I'm interested in both print and multimedia journalism. My written work and podcasts cover a diverse range of issues, including campus news, personal stories, political commentary, arts and culture reviews, and creative nonfiction.
